What Happens When Teachers Pay Teachers Has No Teachers to Sell To?
Consistent teacher departures could make this marketplace a serious ghost town.
The 2022 school year finds the US experiencing a massive exodus like none other before in the teaching profession.
[a lot of sellers, who are former teachers themselves, depend on those who remain in the profession to help keep their lights on. Many have boldly stopped teaching to pursue the “teacherpreneur lifestyle” off the backs of those still accruing scars on the battlefield.]
Some blame it on the 2020 pandemic year with kids locked in their homes, drastically changing their learning environment from offline to online.
And that may be a reason, but this has been a bubble waiting to burst before the rise of CV-19. YouTube is ripe with talking head “Why I Quit Teaching” videos dating back as early as 2013.
The pandemic could’ve been merely the straw that broke the camel's back.
In a recent podcast episode (don’t ask me what it's called as the name escapes me), a lady discussed how she could leave her position thanks to her Teachers Pay Teachers sales.
However, this got me thinking. What if there aren’t any teachers to sell to, and it’s back to the drawing board for everyone?
