Was there a recent resurgence? At the time I researched this article, Black Planet was still pretty off the radar. I didn’t really understand what you were referring to when you said, “Upon signing up.” Signing up to Medium.com? Signing up to TikTok? Or you actually signed up to Black Planet? In that case, I don’t know why you were limited in terms of content access, ability to express yourself on the platform, etc. I would have to know what you were limited on. My only insight would be that lack of serious investment into the site as it is now.
