The Kanye West “Good Friday” Approach to Writing Books Fast
I got the world in my hands, the master plan. — Kanye West on “Christian Dior Denim Flow”
Disclaimer: I have NOT tested this method out yet.
But I thought this is a great idea and wanted to share it for two types of people:
- Kanye enthusiasts
- Aspiring writers
If you’re simultaneously both, then this article will serve you extremely well. If not, then you can still take something away regardless of what camp you fall into.
2010 would be the genesis for Kanye’s unorthodox method of marketing we now know today. That year, he released one song every single Friday dripping anticipation to an album heralded as a masterpiece in his catalog today.
This marketing birth the “Good Friday” series, a memorable time in entertainment history that has yet to be captured again.
Fans drooled weekly for the next swan song to be released on Friday. Classics such as “So Appalled,” “All of the Lights,” and “Monster” made the cut while “Christian Dior Denim Flow,” and “Good Friday” didn’t. Still fantastic posse cuts, but when looking at the overall scope of the album, they wouldn’t be a good fit.
