Feeling Anxious? Look to the Squirrel and its Acorn
Yesterday morning, a squirrel 🐿️ and an acorn reminded me of the value of life.
My left foot steps quietly, but anxiously around a corner leading the charge for my medium stature to return home.
My mind races with the cares of the world, nothing special, yet special to me.
“Am I making enough money from job? My son will be 18 in 2030. Am I setting him up properly to support himself?”
My intrinsic panic drives my walking speed. I’m rushing to nowhere.
“Look down.” A small voice stops my mind from wasting more movement.
A trail of acorns meets the tip of my walking shoe. I stand still to detect where the trail ends.
We lock eyes. I gaze into the essence of this fine furry creature as it devours its breakfast for the morning.
“Not a care in the world.”
“How is that?” I ask.
It looks up.
It picks up another acorn. Whether for seconds or later, I do not know. Only God does.
And that’s the point. Only God knows.
“Do you believe He does?”
